It had been the initial Saturday in quite a while that people decided to load up the car with dogs and water bowls and set off to take in your beautiful island. We didn’t go far, no more than 20 miles from Los Cristianos to some quaint Canarian fishing village often bypassed as people speed across the TF1 either to or from Santa Cruz. It was some time since we had been to Poris de Abona which is a shame because it is just the type of spot to go if you want to leave the tourists behind for an hour or two.
The Tenerife Forums has kept its charms specially in the centre where nothing has evolved in decades and life still proceeds in the relaxed way. On any vacation to you will likely see anglers around the quay or folks topping within the tan. This period was no different – a lone fisherman stood waiting for a catch and probably wasn’t too concerned if he got a bite or otherwise not, the tranquillity was reward enough.
We started off feeling energetic so walked down the coastline while using walkways and promenade that this council have given. These are generally lovely and get a good amount of benches therefore it wasn’t too much time before we stopped for the girls to have a drink and we enjoyed the sea views.
From your promenade we arrived at the little, sheltered curving beach that is certainly favored by locals but never crowded. The magnificent water is shallow so that we aimed to tempt the dogs into cool teneriife but which had been not going to happen.
From the beach we took from the sights and sounds of your village, that has been deserted and silent! I had hoped to hook the farmers market within the plaza with the Church, that i had heard has a good assortment of local produce however it was late afternoon so the place was just like a ghost town.
We continued down the coastal road, which becomes a rough track and reached the newest red and white lighthouse that dominates the skyline which is an icon of Poris. This however is not really the initial that had been built in 1902.
